Psyllium Husk Powder can be a convenient way to increase the intake of dietary fiber. Psyllium Husk has the ability to swell up to 50 times its size. Surveys have shown that the fiber content of the American diet is typically about half of government recommended levels.
Adults take one heaping tablespoon (7 grams) up to 3 times daily with at least 8 ounces of water, juice or your favorite beverage.
Children (6 yrs.-12 yrs.) 1/2 the adult dosage. If minor gas or bloating occur, reduce your intake to half and allow your body to adjust.
Do not take use laxative products if you have difficulty swallowing or any throat problems. If abdominal pain, nausea or vomiting occur, seek immediate medical attention.
