Since women can experience either psychological or physiological symptoms, or both types, Oöna Health has developed two different formulations that may be taken separately or together. Oöna PMS1 is taken throughout a woman's cycle and works with her body to help balance production of certain hormones; the correct balance can mitigate the onset of PMS.

Staying within our philosophy of keeping formulations simple, Oöna PMS1 contains two tablets - a daily tablet and an additional "bonus supplement". Each daily tablet consists of a very fine chaste tree berry extract that is standardized to its key active compound.

It is also formulated for younger women who may not remember to take their herbs throughout the day - so one tablet contains a mighty 275 mg. of chaste tree berry-- all tat should be required.(check with your health care professional) Most products on the shelf contain only 60 mg. or less of a lesser quality extract. Since many women forget throughout the day to take the tablet or tincture, this often means they do not get enough chaste tree in their system and later wonder why it didn't work.

The daily tablet also contains black cohosh. Neither black cohosh or chaste tree berry contain hormones or hormone-like substances; however the herbs do influence hormonal activity through the pituitary gland and hypothalamus.

Next, we've added a "bonus supplement" of passionflower for women who need a little extra relief. Taken just after ovulation ends, passionflower extract is a great complement to chaste tree berry for women who feel especially irritable and depressed just prior to menstruation. Passionflower has historically been used as a calming agent, and is particularly helpful when physical or mental strain results in stress. It is not a strong pain reliever but does have a lasting and refreshing effect on the nervous system.

Take 1 Daily tablet in the morning with food. For added assistance, add 1 Passionflower tablet with the Daily tablet starting mid-cycle (approximately 14 days) until menstruation begins. You can expect to notice results within one to three cycles. Do not exceed 2 tablets per day.

Although there are no know safety issues, OonaPMS1 should be discontinued if you think you are pregnant. On rare occasion stomach upset may occur, which is usually transient.
